I love how this beautiful wall hanging turned out!  It looks even more stunning in person.  I especially love the gold wax accent, it really makes the clay accents pop!  So lets get into it.

* First, remove the cord and give the whole wall plaque a coat of white paint.

* Next, separate the layers of you napkin (this napkin has 3 layers).

*Using a wet paint brush, trace around the bunny image, leaving yourself some of the green background - don't go too close to the vines around the bunny.

* Place the image down on the board  - centre it where you want it.  Lightly trace around the napkin with a pencil.

*Paint brown paint all around the image tracing.  You need the white background for when you put the napkin down.  Don't forget to paint the sides brown as well. Let dry.

*Now, decoupage your bunny in place.  Put your image down where you want it, life a small section at the top and paint on some Mod Podge.  Place the napkin back down and paint over the top section of the napkin.  Complete this process for the whole napkin until the whole thing is mod podged down.  Let dry.

* Take a piece of air dry clay and place it in the square embellishment of the mould.  Press it in firmly, remove any excess and make sure the back is flat.  Remove the clay from the mould.  While still wet, add some glue to the back of the clay and position it in the corner of the board.  See photos for placement.  Complete this process for all 4 corners.  Let dry for 24 hours.

*Rub a colourless wax candle all over the surface (not on the bunny or on the clay pieces).  Don't forget the sides.

*Mix some light green and white paint together until you get a colour that matches the napkin background.  Paint all around the napkin, over the clay and the board edges with your green mixture.  Use a round sponge brush dipped in paint to blend the paint into the napkin background.  Let dry.

*  With the sandpaper, sand the green paint back to create a distressed look.  The wax underneath the paint should make it relatively easy for the paint to be sanded back.  Do not sand the clay or the bunny image.

*Mix some brown paint with some Staining Antiquing medium (1:1).  Apply the mixture over  small sections at a time.  Do this over the entire surface (including over the clay and the bunny image).  Wipe off the excess with a damp paper towel.  Don't leave the mixture on too long before wiping off or it will dry and not come off.  Play with it until you are happy with the amount of stain on the surface.  Be patient.  Don't forget the sides. Let dry.

*Use your finger with the gold wax and rub it over the clay pieces and all around the outer edges of the board.  Add as much or as little as you like.

*Paint the whole surface and the sides with 2 coats of Satin varnish.  Let dry between layers.

*Replace the hanging cord (I had to use tweezers).

*Tie some burlap ribbon to the top of the cord.  Do not tighten.  Thread some of the cotton lace through the knot and tie it.  Repeat this with 2 more pieces of lace.  Tie one of the lace pieces into a bow.  Fold the burlap to the back forming 2 loops (you are creating the appearance of a bow with the burlap without actually tying it).  Glue the 2 burlap pieces down in the back.  This part of the tutorial might be better to watch in the YouTube video HERE, or you could just wing it!  See the images for reference.

Your bunny portrait it done and ready to hang!  I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, let me know if you have questions, comment below or email us at designaholicstudio@outlook.com
