It seems like ages since I’ve done a blog and it probably has been. Things have been upside down here for a while and it has taken determination and a love for what I am doing to get back on track.  This has been and still is a difficult time for everyone.  It is hard to stay focused so thanks for your patience. It seems that nothing deters my card making aunt though and she has s

ent me four cards to blog about.  I’m doing the two Halloween cards now, just in case you would like to try and the Christmas ones will be out sometime in November.  So, here we go with “Flying Witch”.

  • Cut a 4” x 6” piece of black cardstock
  • Cut a piece of watercolour paper that is slightly larger than the black on all sides.
  • Cut a 3 ¾” x 5 ¾” piece of glitter cardstock.
  • Cut and adhere double sided tape to the back of the glitter cardstock and then glue onto the black cardstock piece.
  • Separate the napkin layers (this napkin has only 2 la
    yers).
  • Use Mod Podge under the Flying Witch to adhere the quarter napkin to a piece of watercolour paper (do a little at a time). Watercolour paper must be larger than the napkin.
  • Place a piece of plastic wrap or a plastic page protector over the napkin and gently smooth out any bubbles or creases with the edge of an old gift card or credit card. Remove plastic and let dry!
  • Mod Podge over the napkin and let dry.
  • Cut the bottom border (under the sgraggly trees) and cut around the broom, the moon and the witches cape.
  • Place this piece onto the glitter to see where to cut left and right edges.
  • Use Aleene’s glue to glue witch to card (close to the top)
  • Glue the “haunted lace border” over the glitter paper on the bottom of the card cutting side edges to fit.
  • Put glue here and there onto the witch and her broom and sprinkle with black glitter.
  • Dip a dry brush into orange paint – wipe most of paint of on a napkin and then dry brush around the edges of the card and the outside border of the design.
  • Tape the design to the card using double sided tape or glue it down with Aleene’s Glue.
  • TA DA!
  • As you follow along step-by-step, you will surely appreciate the attention to detail which makes the directions appear more involved than they really are. Step  out of your comfort zone and challenge your self.  Have a fun crafting day and “try it, you’ll love it”!
